The 24th LAKES RALLY, organised by the Classic Car Club of Macedonia, took place with great success on Sunday 11 MAY 2025, starting and finishing for the first time in many years in Thessaloniki’s iconic Aristotelous Square.
More than 40 historic vehicles from all over Greece gathered early in the morning in the square, drawing the eyes of passers-by; the oldest was an impressive 1934 CITROEN TRACTION AVANT.
The organising committee had seen to every detail, so that competitors knew exactly which route to follow for the timed (REGULARITY) special stages of the first and second legs, with a control and regrouping point in Stavros, Thessaloniki.
The start was given and the historic cars left the square one by one to applause and admiring cries from the crowd that had gathered around the arch to watch.
The crews were then timed on the special stages, driving first along the northern and then the southern shores of lakes Koroneia and Volvi.
The crews finished in the afternoon in Aristotelous Square, where trophies were presented to the winners overall and in each class, by year of manufacture.
After another successful LEKAM event, participants made a date for the next event of their favourite club and warmly thanked the organising committee for the flawless planning and organisation.
