For the Whit Monday long weekend, 22, 23 and 24 June, the LEKAM Board is busy preparing a superb tour–rally in beautiful North Evia.
The programme of the “LEKAM SUMMER RALLY 2024” is as follows:
Day 1: Crews gather at Thermopotamou Square in Loutra Edipsou, where the Mayor of Istiaia–Edipsos, Mr Ioannis Kontzias, will give the crews an impressive welcome.
At 12:30 the first car starts, driving along the coast to Agios Nikolaos, enchanting Gialtra, Lichada and Kavos, with its dreamlike view of the Lichadonisia islands.
There we will enjoy the stunning scenery and taste traditional meze in lovely little tavernas. After this culinary treat, with our eyes full of the views, we will return to Loutra Edipsou and the AVRA hotel overlooking the sea.
After a short break to rest and freshen up, as night falls we will drive together in an organised convoy to Istiaia square for a static display of our historic cars from 21:00 to 23:30. Then back to our sea-view hotel for the night.
Day 2: We set off from Thermopotamou Square at 11:00 towards Pefki, criss-crossing North Evia through historic green villages such as Kamaria, Kerasia, Osios David, Vasilika, Agia Anna, Gouves and many more that have been reborn with the help of their people and of nature. A blessed land, where the mountain meets the sea, the sun and the wind!
We will regroup at the statue of Poseidon of Artemision – a faithful copy of the original in the National Archaeological Museum in Athens – for the drive back to Loutra.
In the evening, after such a full and wonderful day, a big party with food awaits us, together with the trophy presentation. How the crews get from the hotel to the taverna will be a surprise dreamed up by the LE.K.A.M. Board.
Day 3: A day to relax. Everyone can enjoy the area’s beauty and sights. Our suggestions: the “Bull of Oreoi”, a life-size marble votive sculpture weighing about 5 tonnes; the fire memorial in Istiaia, recalling the devastating fire of 2021; and the statue of Hercules in Thermopotamou Square in Loutra, inaugurated by Mayor Giannis Kontzias with Efstathios Anagnostou, who decorated the square with historic photos of the area.
Enjoy too the healing thermal springs in the famous pools, the unique beaches with their turquoise water and the delicious local meze!
Please note:
1) By arrangement with the AVRA hotel, the LEKAM Board offers participants free use of the hotel’s thermal-water pool from 07:00 to 09:00 and from 17:00 to 18:00.
2) The entry fee for members is €200 for a double room, €240 for a triple room, and €150 for each extra double room for accompanying guests (2 people), subject to availability. You will find the entry form here (in Greek).
THE PRICE INCLUDES: HOTEL WITH BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND EACH VEHICLE’S EVENT COSTS (plates, numbers, insurance, souvenirs etc.).

4) Crews gather on Saturday 22.06.2024 at Thermopotamou Square in Loutra Edipsou, where the Mayor of Istiaia–Edipsos, Mr Ioannis Kontzias, will welcome the crews, and the START is at 12:30 from the same square.
